African countries and EU (By Sylodium, international trade directory)

Seven African countries are facing to pay tariffs on their exports to the EU if they do not adopt the trade agreements signed with the honour of Brussels in 2007. African countries are Botswana, Namibia, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya and Swaziland. The European Parliament awarded to African countries for an extension until October 2014 to ratify its economic partnership agreements (EPAs). 17 countries in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) have not ratified or implemented the agreement. The EPA allows countries to export goods to the EU without tariffs or maximum quotas, under World Trade Organisation rules. The countries benefited from the agreement without delays to avoid disrupting exports, principally towards Europe. In a regulation, the European commission permitted the countries to maintain their privileged trade status.
