Dubai-based Drake & Scull International has said it has been hired to execute mechanical electrical and plumbing works on a luxury hotel in Jordan. The contracting giant has been appointed by Arabtec Construction, the main contractor, to work on the St Regis Hotel and Residences project in Amman in a contract value worth AED158m ($43m). Khaldoun Tabari, CEO of Drake & Scull International, said: "Winning this contract is a major step forward towards strengthening our presence in Jordan. Earlier this month, Drake & Scull International posted a 47 percent increase in net profit for the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year.
