Overlapping blocs in Africa. (By Sylodium, global import export directory).

Until Africa won’t decide to create an unique bloc, each bloc is actually imbricated with other blocs. Apart African Union,  consisting of all of Africa's states except Morocco, that tries to improve cooperation and integration of their members, there are many other blocs, most of them, more committed with the ties between their members, for example: .

COMESA. The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (started in 1994 with several countries) is a free trade area with currently twenty member states from North Africa (Lybia)  to Zambia, Zimbabwe.

CEN-SAD:  The Community of Sahel-Saharan States aims to create a free trade area within Africa,   its membership has grown to 28 countries.

Or SADC The Southern African Development Community. is an inter-governmental organization which goal is to further socio-economic cooperation and integration as well as political and security cooperation among 15 southern African states.

But there are other many blocs, like you can see in the picture. LGA; IGAD, ECCAS, SACU, ECOWAS……….
