Peru's Exports rose 6.5 Per Cent (By Sylodium, international trade directory)

Peru's Exports to countries that have a free trade agreement (FTA) with Peru rose 6.5 per cent in 2012 compared to a year earlier, according to Peru's export and tourism promotion board (PromPeru).

Exports of grapes totalled US$18 million and after the free trade agreement with the US, they reached US$36 million in 2009 and US$53 million in 2012.

Meanwhile, exports of squid to China increased from US$19 million in 2008 to US$22 million in 2012. The free trade agreement with China entered into force in March 2010.

Shipments of mandarin to Canada, which has a FTA with Peru since August 2009, amounted to US$11 million in 2012.
