The Southern African Customs Union (SACU) is the oldest Customs Union in the world that replacing the Customs Union Agreement of 1910 entered into force on the 1st of March 1970 between South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland.
Its aim is to maintain the free interchange of goods between member countries.

SACU is involved in negotiations for a free trade agreement with the EU.
